College Prep English/AP Literature & Composition
AP Lit & Comp
The AP English Literature and Composition course engages students in careful reading
and critical analysis of literature: poetry, drama, fiction (novel and short story), and
expository prose. Students will participate in careful discussion and writing about the
selected texts from several genres and periods from both American and British literature.
Students will experience, interpret and evaluate many different types of text. The
workload, content and level of reading material in this course are at the college level as
suggested by the College Board Advanced Placement Program.
